1. Repairs needed on Engine #3-The frame is separating because rust
is building up in between
the double
frames. There are also mechanical problems which would cost around $3,000.00 to
fix. He is concerned that even with
the
repairs, the truck may not pass inspection. Feels that it would not be worth
putting in $3,000.00 and wants the Board’s opinion.
Don Fournier states that all the
other officers of the Fire Dept feel the same way. The Board also agrees. Equipment can be taken
off this truck and used on others. The truck could than possibly be put out for bid.
2.
Tires for Engine 6-The tires on Engine 6 will not pass
inspection and he would like to purchase 4 tires for $1,664.28 from New England Truck Tire. This is a
government price but does not include installation. The Board asks if this
price includes shipping. Bob will need
to check on it. This will be paid out of his Truck Repairs Account.
Motion to allow Bob Scott to expend
$1,664.28 for Michelin tires for Engine 6 made by Selectman Mark Duquette and
seconded by Selectman Gino Camardese. Selectman Guy Desjardins amends the
amount to $2,000.00. Vote taken on the amended amount of
$2,000.00.
