The Fire Department’s report shows that they are operating in the red but that is only because their grant has not been applied to the account. The expenditures for the grant have been applied to Fire Department Budgetary account. F.D. Budgetary Unexpended now in the Black. Selectmen have a copy in their binders.

Jerry Sabins, Transfer Station Manager- Has two applicants for the Transfer Station that he would like to hire. One is Joseph Michaud and the other is Horace Atwood. Would like to discuss the pay rate.
Chair Guy Desjardins- The hourly rate is set at $7.75 for 6 months and then goes to $8.25. They can start at the first step and after 90 days depending on how they work out, may go up another step. Would also like to have Horace Atwood get medical approval from his doctor before being hired.
Motion
to hire Joseph Michaud depending upon a PD Check and motion to hire Horace
Atwood depending on medical approval and PD check made by Selectman Mark
Duquette and seconded by Selectman Gino Camardese.

Chair Guy Desjardins- Received a phone call from Buster Downing asking why we were no longer using their services for pumping the sewage tanks at the Transfer Station. He asked Jerry Sabins why we changed companies. He was told that Buster Downing would charge us $250.00 each time that he came out. The Transfer Station is going in with the Animal Shelter by using Nickersons and the cost is only $100.00 a trip. Chair Guy Desjardins will call Buster Downing to explain that it wasn’t the quality of service that prompted the change but the cost.
Donald Therrien, Fire Chief- Requesting to meet with the Board of Selectmen to discuss plumbing on Engine 5 and asking to have the outstanding invoice to be paid.
The company EVM was asked to plumb engine five. The cost was more then he expected as the company charged $90 an hour for labor. He also thought that he had $48000.00 to spend on engine 5 when in fact he was budgeted for $45000.00. He could pay the rest of the amount out of his equipment account.
Chair Guy Desjardins- The Board should always have some say in what is being spent. Also if a purchase order would have been used, there would have been proof of what was quoted.
Motion
to pay the bill out of the Chief’s Equipment Account was made by Selectman Mark
Duquette and seconded by Selectman Gino Camardese.
All in
