account as it is. This item will be taken off the Agenda and the

3. Discussion on the MMA Convention-The workshops needed
are being offered on Thursday. He requests
permission
for the office to close so that all can attend. The Board is willing to permit
two to go on

workshops offered on Thursday the Board decides that
the
Bookkeeper and Town Clerk should attend on that day.

but has no need for the plow & wing set up. Discussion follows on what
parts the Town will purchase.

purchase the plow, wing and set up made by Selectman Gino Camardese and

2.
Bids on Winter Sand-Informs the Board that we usually
purchase our sand from Fisher Farm. The Board feels that we should get at least
three bids so John Hyde will be asked to also check with other local vendors.
Gregory Gill, Town Manager-Speaking for Robert Scott, Fire Chief- Asks the Board to put Engine #3 up
for bid and to place it in the Town’s parking lot where it will be more visible. The Board agrees to the truck being moved and requests that the minimum bid
be set at $1,000.00.
Comments from the Floor:
Paul Gagne -Introduces himself as a new resident. Attended the last Selectmen’s Meeting and comments on the new 911
center. Feels
that the Town not being represented by a Department Head at the meetings is
irresponsible. The Board responds that the Town Manager, Fire Chief and
Police Chief will be attending the remaining meetings. The Town needs to stay informed
as the cost of dispatching could increase drastically.
Don Therrien,
Fire Dept-Asks the
Board if Department Heads are still supposed to get three bids before
purchasing. He listened to last week’s tapes and heard that the Fire Chief only
received one bid for the new tires for engine 6. The Board responds that the
Chief had received a government price which is the lowest price available but they
agree that three bids are needed.
